To drive in Spain, you must hold a valid driving licence.
If your licence is Spanish: If it is expired and your renewal appointment is after your trip, you can request an official document from the DGT stating that you are authorised to drive. This document will be accepted to collect the vehicle.
If your licence is NOT Spanish: Temporary driving permits issued outside Spain are not valid for driving in Spain. In this case, we recommend that you add another person as the main driver (with a valid licence) or cancel your booking to be eligible for a refund, provided that you meet the cancellation policy conditions.
If you want to update your scanned licence because it has expired, simply log in, go to your profile, replace the photo of the document and re-verify it.
